My photography experiences have primarily been motivated by a deeply personal and fundamental human need for self-expression and a cathartic experience that, for me, comes only from capturing on film what I feel when I see. I'm energized by the challenge of striving to capture some singular event and image, some providential moment in time, that can never be replicated. This Web Site contains some of my "images", and will always represent a work in progress - Please check back often for new content and features, and be sure to share your feedback with me. While graphic design presentation elements are utilized throughout, no Gallery photos have been digitally altered or enhanced. My original camera was a Canon AE-1, that I used exclusively for years. Now, I shoot exclusively with Nikon 35mm cameras and lenses ( 2 Nikon N8008's - I find it impossible to improve upon the durability and function of the Nikon's and the superior optics of the Nikkor lenses) and use only Ilford Professional FP4 B&W print film for my portrait Work. All films and prints are hand-processed, to exacting standards, on Ilford RC paper. Most of my color images are photographed on Kodak Select Elite Chrome slide film. My point-and-shoot camera of choice is a Nikon Cool Pix 5700. I've recently added a Nikon D 70 digital, and look forward to experimenting with it. I'm moving forward, albeit somewhat reluctantly, into the "digital age. " Schedule permitting, I'm available for Editorial assignments and commissioned Fine Art Portrait sessions throughout the Southeastern U.S. Of course rates vary depending upon circumstances, so send me an e-mail, or fill out the convenient form on my Contact Info page. I've enjoyed extensive experience in model portfolio development, and on a limited basis, work with aspiring Models and Actors in a trade-for-photos (TFP) arrangement. Interested parties should e-mail me their pertinent personal data, along with a photo-image. All eligible TFP participants will be required to sign a Model Release, and participants under legal age will require the written approval of a parent or guardian. Jack A.
